MORE ON THE REGION

The Barents region consists of the 13 northernmost counties in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia and comprises great, virtually untouched wilderness areas.

Its rich natural environment varies from coastlines, tundra and mountains to the vast areas covered by the distinctive and valuable Nordic forest with its abundant animal and plant life. It is also home to a number of indigenous peoples.
